What do you think about this?

As it is now, the only thing you as knitters know is who you're supposed to send the sock to after you've knitted you part. What if I published the complete knitting order here on the blog, so everyone knows who is next in line? I know, it removes the surprise element, but maybe it would speed things up a bit. It would also make it easier for you to estimate when the sock should arrive at your destination. And you could post to the blog if you're next in line and the sock is nowhere to be seen.

What do you think about this? Could as many of you as possible please comment to this post and tell me if your in favor or against this.

I think that's a great idea! I just hope it wasn't lost!

Well I don't mind seeing where/who the sock is coming from BUT the issue at the moment is that we don't know for certain where the socks are or why they are taking so long. What about a time limit - so if you haven't completed your bit in time (say 7 days) then you forward it to the next person anyway - there's bound to be a few people with enough time on their hands to play catch up.
My other suggestion would be to have an 'amnesty' where by anyone who wants to drop out can do so. At least this way if the socks are stuck with people who don't have time to knit them, they can be passed on without embarrassment.

I think it's fine to lose the surprise about when you get it. It's also probably useful anyway, so if you were going to plan a weekend trip you might schedule it around when you were due to get the sock. If you ask me, seeing the progress list would ADD to the fun, not take away from the fun. Plus we can see how close the socks are to their end destination (the last person on the list).

I agree with what everyone has said. It would really help so we know when to expect the socks. Plus I think notsocarbonneutral has a fantastic idea. Some people who signed up may now have other obligations and swaps that they can't get to these socks, so having a way to get out of it without feeling awful would be nice. :)

I'm all for posting the order, that way when people post that they're sending it off we can follow its progress.
